The Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of the team at its flagship Project, Cariboo Gold Project, as a Financial Analyst.
This position’s work will primarily be located within the Cariboo region of British Columbia.
Reporting to the BGM Assistant Controller, the Financial Analyst (BGM) is responsible for accurate and efficient accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting for the Company in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards. He or she will work collaboratively with the finance team in implementing new financial accounting and reporting standards, prepare accounting policies and technical accounting memos, prepare supporting schedules for complex accounting and external reporting purposes; implement reporting and SOX best practices and ensure compliance.
Candidates who do not possess those skills may be considered for the role if they express an interest in and can demonstrate the aptitude to successfully complete the necessary internal training.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day activities by optimizing productivity in accordance with goals and scheduling while demonstrating a strong personal commitment to safety and the environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of the financial consolidation of the Company and its subsidiaries
- Assisting with the preparation of quarterly and annual filings (Consolidated Financial Statements and MD&A)
- Support the review and audit of quarterly and annual filings and SOX compliance with external auditors
- Review of reporting packages from subsidiaries ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with the Company’s policy and internal controls
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and ongoing continuous disclosure requirements
- Prepare, implement and maintain corporate accounting policies across the organization
- Assess and document the accounting impact and required disclosures for major transactions, including significant contracts acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, investments and other complex transactions
- Participating in IT system migrations or upgrades for various applications
- Ensure compliance on SOX key controls and assist with establishing internal control processes and related documentation and provide support for internal audit of such controls
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance and/or Accounting required
- CPA designation or equivalent is a requirement
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Superior knowledge in excel and analytical reporting tools
- Experience with ERP systems and/or with Sage 300 is an asset
- Mining industry experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all levels of the Company
- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements

Compensation
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
