("OGG"), is seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of its Cariboo Gold Project as a Environmental Technician in Wells, BC. This position will be primarily located in Wells, BC, and will follow fourteen [14] days on and fourteen [14] days off work rotation.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Environment, the Environmental Technician is responsible for implementing environmental monitoring programs and supporting regulatory compliance activities across the Cariboo Gold Project.

Primary responsibilities include conducting field sampling and post-field documentation for surface water, groundwater, effluent, meteorological monitoring, vegetation, dust fall, metal leaching and acid rock drainage (ML/ARD), and other environmental monitoring programs in accordance with applicable site approvals, the British Columbia Field Sampling Manual, the Metal and Diamond Mining Effluent Regulations (MDMER), permit requirements, and approved management plans.

In addition, the role includes preparing field documentation and technical reports, performing quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews, managing environmental data, maintaining accurate records, and demonstrating a high standard of professionalism, technical competency, and environmental stewardship in all aspects of the role.

Main Responsibilities

· Calibrate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot environmental monitoring equipment, ensuring calibration records are complete and up to date.

· Collect surface water, groundwater, drinking water, receiving environment, effluent, and other environmental samples in accordance with the BC Field Sampling Manual, approved Sampling and Analysis Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Execute field activities in accordance with established SOPs to ensure consistency, data integrity, and compliance with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) requirements.

· Operate, maintain, and collect data from hydrometric, meteorological, and environmental monitoring stations.

· Accurately record field observations, monitoring results, and inspection findings using field logbooks, electronic data capture systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Identify, document, and promptly communicate environmental non-compliances, exceedances, and trigger-level observations.

· Complete stream flow and discharge measurements using approved methodologies while maintaining equipment calibration and documentation requirements.

· Support a variety of environmental monitoring and compliance programs, including wildlife monitoring, aquatic effects monitoring, hydrotechnical assessments, vegetation surveys, groundwater monitoring, and other environmental initiatives as required.

· Assist with routine environmental inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with permits, approvals, environmental management plans, and regulatory commitments.

Qualifications

· Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or a related scientific discipline.

· One (1) to three (3) years of experience supporting environmental monitoring programs, including field sampling, inspections, data management, and technical reporting. Experience in the mining, construction, or resource sectors is considered an asset.

· Working knowledge of applicable federal and provincial environmental legislation, regulations, and best management practices relevant to the mining industry.

· Demonstrated ability to safely perform physically demanding field work, including lifting and carrying equipment, hiking over rough terrain, working extended field days, and installing erosion and sediment control measures.

· Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· Ability to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and field conditions while maintaining a high standard of work quality.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to accurately document field observations and communicate environmental issues to supervisors.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable working with electronic data collection systems. Experience with GIS, environmental databases, or mobile field applications is considered an asset.

· This position is approximately 70% field-based and 30% office-based, depending on seasonal monitoring requirements. Field work includes year-round exposure to varying weather conditions, working around heavy equipment, uneven terrain, watercourses, boats, wildlife, and operating or travelling by snowmobile, UTV, and other off-road vehicles.

· Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driving record.

· Successful completion of a pre-employment medical, including an alcohol and drug test

Compensation

$85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
